The Medical Library (BBM) at the University Medical Center Göttingen supports the supply of information and literature in the fields of human medicine and dentistry. We advise you on all matters relating to library use and help you with your research.

Individual and Group Workplaces
The Medical Library provides 304 individual and 168 group workplaces, 101 PCs, numerous special workspaces, whiteboards, mobile beanbags and sitting balls.

Soundproof Furniture and Carrels
Soundproofed carrels provide space for focused learning in groups of up to four people. Soundproof furniture and mobile soundproof walls offer opportunities to shield yourself from the background noise of the reading room.

Printing and Scanning
Multifunctional devices for scanning, printing and copying are available for students. We also offer a book scanner and a poster printer for large formats up to A0, which students and staff can use. Instructions for using the poster printer are available at the information desk.

Green Lounge
Take a break from studying and relax on comfortable furniture surrounded by greenery.

Anatomy Models and Virtual Dissection Table
Our anatomy models help you study and the Anatomage virtual dissection table can be used freely after an introduction by the tutors.

3D printing
Anyone with a valid library card can order 3D prints from us at a reasonable price. Inquire directly at the information desk or send us an e-mail (bbmed@sub.uni-goettingen.de).

Body Models to Borrow
Prospective medical professionals already know that exercise improves oxygen supply to the brain, reduces stress and promotes concentration and information processing. If you would like to use the treadmill, please register at the information desk.

Our Holdings
The freely accessible literature in our reading room is divided into a textbook collection (upper level, shelfmark XL), modern specialist literature (upper level, shelfmark XS), old specialist literature (upper level, shelfmark XU-XW) and journals (lower level, shelfmark XZ).
We also provide access to various learning platforms and e-book offerings.
Reserved titles or titles ordered via catalogue can be picked up at the information desk.

On our Medicine page you will find structured access to relevant catalogs, databases, e-journals and research tools.
Our subject specialist will assist with any questions you may have about literature research and ensure that the most important publications from your subject area are represented in our holdings.
Accessibility at the Location
There are six parking spaces for people with disabilities in front of Entrance West to the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG). Five more parking spaces are available on the opposite side of the building at Entrance East. More detailed information can be found on the University Medical Center Göttingen website.
From the the main entrance (Entrance West) you can reach the library via an elevator, the East entrance leads directly into the building without barriers. An elevator is available within the library to reach the upper level.
There are several accessible WCs in the building, the WC near the canteen is the easiest to reach from the library.
