Book Acquisition Programme for Students of Göttingen University
Are you working on a term paper, thesis or presentation? The SUB Göttingen supports you and finances the acquisition of specialist literature that is not yet available or currently not accessible in Göttingen.
Depending on availability and the preferred format, we provide the titles as an e-book or as a print edition. As a rule, they are available within five working days of delivery. Please note: Orders from abroad may take longer.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
The service is aimed at all students of the University of Göttingen who need literature for their written term papers and theses (e. g. seminar papers, Bachelor's, Master's, Magister, Diplom or state examination theses, not for dissertations). In addition, books can also be suggested that are needed for other course work such as lectures, presentations or internship reports.
You can propose any current, scientifically qualified monographic publication (secondary literature or source edition) that is available in bookshops, i. e. academic research literature from all subject areas. This can be a single-volume or multi-volume title.
You can specify your preferred format (e-book or print edition). If the e-book exceeds the price limit of 250 Euros or the provision would take too long due to legal reasons, we will purchase the printed book.
Books whose price exceeds the upper financial limit of 250 Euros cannot be purchased. If a preferred e-book exceeds this limit or if provision is not possible for legal reasons, the print edition will be procured instead.
Also not available for purchase: Sequels and series, popular science or non-scientific works that only serve as sources for academic work, as well as textbooks that are already available in multiple copies.
Are you unsure whether a title can be acquired?
Please contact the subject librarian responsible for your subject area. They will decide on a case-by-case basis whether a suggested book can be purchased.
We will check your proposal for availability and whether the title meets the acquisition criteria. If the book cannot be purchased, we will inform you immediately. If the purchase is possible, we will notify you as soon as the e-book is available or the printed book is ready in the Self-Pickup Area.
After you have used the book, it will be permanently added to our collections. The e-books also remain permanently accessible via the catalogues.

Please use the form to suggest it for acquisition - please include the most important bibliographical information (author, title, year of publication). This will enable us to check whether we can acquire the work.
