We support researchers in the development, adaptation and sustainable use of scientific software - from the project idea to productive use. And we develop digital systems for research and library services.

Das RSE-Team der SUB Göttingen bietet spezialisierte Unterstützung in den Bereichen Forschungssoftware, computergestützte Verfahren und Daten. Mit der fortschreitenden Digitalisierung von Forschung und der zunehmenden Abhängigkeit von softwaregestützten Methoden wachsen die technischen und methodischen Anforderungen stetig. Neben hochwertiger Forschungssoftware, braucht es auch Expert*innen, die sie entwickeln, pflegen und voranbringen. 

Die SUB Göttingen ist ein führender Akteur im Bereich Research Software Engineering (RSE) in Deutschland. Mit einem interdisziplinären Team aus Softwareentwickler*innen, Projektkoordinator*innen und RSE-Spezialist*innen begleiten wir Forschungsprojekte in allen Phasen – von der Idee über die Entwicklung bis zur langfristigen Nutzung.

Thanks to increasing third-party funded projects, the RSE team has been able to grow strongly over the last five years and now covers a broad spectrum of software and research services.

Third-party funding for projects in the area of Research Software Engineering has risen from € 240,000 to € 1,128,000 since 2020.

15+ ongoing projects: We support national and international research projects in the humanities and natural sciences and cooperate closely with the GWDG, the University of Göttingen and other partners.

20+ software tools: From digital editions to AI-based analysis tools to research data visualizations - our software is used sustainably and in some cases reused across projects.

Scientific effect

Our software solutions have been used or cited in over 100 scientific publications, contributing directly to research transparency and efficiency.

Training & Community

We regularly offer workshops, trainings and conference contributions to support research teams in software development, sustainable data management and open science.
