About Us

The Göttingen State and University Library (SUB Göttingen) introduces itself: an overview of our library, career opportunities and public events, contact options and regulations as well as offers for the specialist public.

The Göttingen State and University Library (SUB Göttingen) is one of the largest and most research-intensive academic libraries in Germany and preserves extensive historical collections.

With around 10 million media units, it offers an efficient supply of literature and a wide range of information services at the University of Göttingen and on the Göttingen Campus. Its tasks also include preserving­scientific findings and cultural heritage­and making them permanently accessible.

Since its foundation in 1734, the library has developed from a traditional research library into a globally recognized competence center for the digital library and is a leader in the development of research and information infrastructures - both nationally and internationally.
