Use

The Use Department (BE) operates the lending and information desks, looks after the Divisional Libraries and the Learning and Study Building. It takes care of loans and book returns, advises on research questions, offers training courses, supervises study rooms and organizes services such as inter-library loans and document delivery.

The Digital Library (DB) department operates and develops the SUB Göttingen's digital services. It is responsible for both ongoing operations and the production of digital content. Some tasks are carried out in cooperation with partners such as the GWDG, the IT departments of the University and University Medical Center Göttingen and the GBV-Verbundzentrale. The main users are the departments of the SUB, university staff and students as well as institutions on the Göttingen campus.

The Research and Development Department (FE) develops digital research infrastructures for scientific data and services and researches aspects of research data management.

The Department of Information Provision (IV) provides access to printed and digital media. It procures and licenses content, manages holdings, organizes access to electronic resources and provides support for open access and publication services.

The Special Collections and Preservation Department (SP) is responsible for the acquisition, cataloging and preservation of historical holdings and special collections of the SUB Göttingen.

The Publication and Data Services Department (PD) supports researchers in publishing texts and data and promotes Open Access and Open Science. It operates the Göttingen University Press, a journal service, repositories for documents, theses and research data as well as platforms for digital editions. PD also develops metadata applications, networks knowledge resources worldwide and analyzes developments in scientific communication and the publication market on the basis of open data.
