OA Datenpraxis
OA-Datenpraxis: Data practice for shaping the open access transformation - analysis, recommendation, training & networking
The ‘OA Datenpraxis’ project supports the development of structures for the Open Access transition at the national level. It focuses on promoting and establishing processes and procedures for sovereign data practice in shaping the Open Access transition, whilst engaging with international developments. The project supports practitioners at academic institutions in professionalising data practices by promoting organisation and networking for model development and standardisation through a coordinated approach. The project aims to (1) improve data-driven management of the Open Access transition; (2) cooperation in data practices for the Open Access transition is strengthened; (3) standards for collaborative data practices for the Open Access transition are developed; (4) dependence on proprietary data sources is minimised; and (5) skills training and related information resources on data practices are improved. The project will make a key contribution to the further development of supra-regional information provision. This will be achieved through surveys, analyses, validations and operational recommendations relating to data practices in the Open Access transition. Current data practices will be examined and discussed. Furthermore, practitioners in administration, libraries and other service facilities of the information infrastructure will be supported. Based on this work, strategic recommendations for senior management will be drawn up in a synopsis. The aim is to provide impetus for improving data practices at the national level. Through knowledge transfer and reflection, the project has a broad impact by fostering networking among professionals on relevant topics. In doing so, the project cooperates with relevant stakeholders and operates openly and transparently, in the spirit of Open Science.
